Deering Sierra Banjo

When Greg Deering first introduced the Sierra, he kept the cost down by keeping the cosmetics simple, and putting the money into the pot assembly for a top professional banjo at a very affordable price.
The  G.D.L. The Maple Blossom, the Deluxe, the Calico, and the Black Diamond all have the exact same pot assembly as the Sierra. which means that the Sierra is truly a top professional banjo.  Inspired by the art work of the old masters of the Boston Banjo era, and using state-of-the-art technology, he has been able to make the Sierra exquisitely beautiful without raising the price.

Deering Goodtime Tenor GT2 Banjo

An Irish Tenor with a resonator, wood rim, light weight vibrant tone, this little Goodtime 2 17-fret Tenor is a fun banjo to play. It is so light weight you can take it with you traveling, and small enough it is easy to tote even on an airplane. The resonator is like an amplifier so this is louder than the Goodtime Open back.

Deering Vega Old Tyme Wonder

This Vega Old Tyme Wonder is for clawhammer style banjoists who prefer plucking their banjos over the fingerboard where the pot and the neck join. For greater comfort, Deering builds in a traditional “scoop” that allows more room for the fingers and thumb of the right hand to pluck the strings without hitting the fingerboard. The fingerboard itself is made of hard, dense, colorful, exotic, naturally beautiful ebony.

To re-create the old fashioned sound and appearance, they install a classic “no-knot tailpiece,” a Fiberskyn head, and Deering’s exclusive planetary tuning pegs for a traditional, old time sound. This banjo’s rim and neck are based on the Vega Little Wonder, but designed specifically for the old time players.
