A mystery series, the 14ce is part of a new line from Taylor that fits somewhere between the Big Baby and Academy series’. Like the Academy series, the 14ce bears no bracing on the sides. The heelless two-bolt neck on this guitar is also found on the Big Baby series. Standard for this price range, Taylor uses solid torrefied spruce on the top of the 14ce, and laminate African sapele on the back & sides. Unique to this in-between series is the use of a Fishman Sonitone GT-2 pickup for the guitar’s electronics.
