A top quality F-style mandolin by Boulder's Tailwater company. Tailwater's instruments combine the best materials, sourced worldwide, including maple, spruce, and ebony from North America, Europe and Africa. The hardware comes from the USA, Japan, Taiwan, and China. They are hand-built by a luthier in Shandong, China. Final instrument setup is completed in Colorado. This TW-F5 demonstrates this superb attention to craftsmanship. The top is a solid piece of select, hand-carved spruce. The back & sides are hand-carved solid Flamed maple. Other interesting features: Radiused ebony fretboard with scooped extension and mother-of-pearl dot markers, adjustable ebony bridge, medium sized fretwire, 1” bone nut, solid cast tailpiece, 18:1 Grover machine heads, triple bound top and back with sunburst finish, and bound neck & headstock. Truly an exceptional instrument a with lovely tone. Hardshell case included.
