Flatiron mandolins have long been lauded for their exceptional quality, tone and craftsmanship. They even have ties to here, as master luthier, Steve Carlson used to live in Boulder and named his company after our iconic mountains. This A5-1 A-style mandolin is from an era where Flatiron was at the top of their game, and it is even signed by Mr. Carlson himself. Despite it's age, you would be hard pressed to find a more pristine example—it virtually looks new, with hardly any play wear or deterioration. It was rarely played by its owner and is now looking for a home where it can be appreciated and open up even more. Solid sitka spruce top with gorgeous stain. Solid maple back & sides. Extra long "Florida" style neck helps reach super high notes. It also has rare X bracing, giving it a powerful, punchy tonality. Truly a fabulous instrument. Hardshell case included.
