In todays saturated modern guitar world, it's good to be occasionally reminded of the importance and incredible legacy of the C.F. Martin guitar company. This 0-18 is just such a reminder, built in Nazareth in 1940 (the same year as John Lennon's birth and before USA's involvement in World War II!). Of course it's not a museum piece, but its legacy, age, patina and battle scars hint at its countless stories told and stories yet to tell. Numerous body cracks have been repaired, so it is quite stable and playable The original bridge was replaced and it could use a neck reset at some point (which the price reflects). Overall it's still an excellent strummer and has a full-throated timeless voice that must be heard in person to be believed. Solid Adirondack spruce top. Solid mahogany back & sides. Hardshell case included.
